I've never had a glass of normal ruination before, but the 10th anny is absolutely divine... too bad it's my only bottle... :(

Opened and finished my first Ruination 10th anni tonight as well. Lucky for me a I fanagled 3 bottles out of my local shop. I enjoyed it mightily but holy shit it's a monster. Bitterness lingers all over the tongue like raw oily hop blossoms. I wrote my own review and then read some on beeradvocate...was shocked to see some folks saying they thought it was balanced. I loved it, but it's anything but balanced (imo). It's an attack on your senses, makes Palate Wrecker look like 60min.

Kind of late to decide but I will be heading to the Top of the Hops Beerfest in Jackson Mizzip tomorrow. Should be a good time. Better late than never
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

I was dumb in my earlier post. The Oregon Brewers' Fest started yesterday. I swung by after work and got my mug and tokens. Had three tasters before heading home. Today is the real day. I took off work and am going right at noon! :D

I tasted the following:

Boulevard Zon Wit-style: This was good, but not as good as I remember it. Kind of mediocre witbeer this time around.
Pelican Winema Wit: This was excellent, much better than the Zon. Very much has the orange peel and coriander taste in the middle. Nice light finish. Flavorful beer.
Bayern Dark Doublebock: Really excellent dark double bock. Smooth and strong with that roasted malt taste. Loved this beer.

Agreed. Balance isn't what they were going for, I don't think. It's ridiculously bitter and the hop oils coat your mouth. I loved it.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

What does everyone do with beer that is brought over by guests but then no one drinks it? I have a case of Harp thats in the way and I'd rather not drink it. I know it could be a much worse beer but compared to my other choices, it is.
Alright, alright, alright!

You drink it, of course. It's still beer.

I'd rather buy some Guiness to mix with it.
