Jason, I feel your pain. I went to the bar tonight for the game, and at the end, would rather have seen BRAD...

Great, great show, incredibly intimate arena. I was about 8 feet away from stone. Shawn Smith came out after the encore and did an amazing rendition of Purple Rain, right into Crown of Thorns, both solo on keyboard. After thge show I hung out in fron of the Gramercy with about 25 people. after about a half hour, Shawn came out, all by himself. he truly could not have been nicer. I was the first 1 to notice him,a nd the 2nd to walk over to him (believe it or not, he discreetly walked over to someone and chatted up them) Oh, and and at about 8:35 or so, when everyone was wondering when the show was going to start, we noticed a tall thin fella walk right past us into the backstage area. I said to my wife : "That could have been Stone" It was

Yea Stone was the only one not to come out after. Great show. Walking to get there every time I looked in a window the Rangers were down another goal. Devils have been the better team and if not for the king it would be over.

I had to chase Stone down for him to sign a setlist years ago after a Brad show in Tempe. He seems to have an aversion to taking the McCready approach to his fans or Brad fans. He's still awesome, though.

What a great show!
They played hard & loud, thumpin bass, great vocals and Stone totally shreddin.
The place wasn't packed but there was a decent crowd.
I thought they were much better tonight then the last 2x I saw them.

someone asked Shawn "if the boys were hangin tonight". "Well, Gossard slipped out back" he replied. Again though, I can not stress this enough. Shawn Smith could not have been nicer. he came out by himself, and actually had to chat up someone, as he went unnoticed/unappreciated.

This was my first time seeing Brad and thought the show was terrific. In addition to the Prince and MLB covers by Shawn, the whole band also covered Uncle Neil's "Don't Cry" later in the encore.

Shawn praised NYC for its sandwiches while saying that he couldn't find a good sandwich in Seattle.

+1

Met most of the band two years ago but Stone was shy and away. Ed and Mike on the other hand would have talked till they went on stage!!!

My first time seeing Brad too, and I didn't know any of their songs. It was a good show, small venue. It was so small I assumed they only had a unisex bathroom but I think I may have been using the mens rooms. Oops.

Highlights for me were 20th Century, and Shawn Smith doing Purple Rain into Crown of Thorns.

Would have liked Stone to engage more with the audience but I know that's not his thing. Not a knock on him in particular, I guess I just like to experience something more than just good music at a show. I was also hoping for a guitar pick, but no such luck :D

How'd people like Happy Chichester?

I love the guy. Seen him a number of times in cincy and columbus.

I did not enjoy him  . I think it takes a lot of charisma to pull off a solo performance and I've been spoiled with Chris Cornell/Ed shows. Clearly not Happy's fault but that's my benchmark now! I also generally prefer bands, a big part of what I love about live music is the band interaction with each other and the crowd.
