Yeah buddy, that song is amazing live. Shows how Vedders voice has really just improved over the years.

One of my favorite studio songs, but I'm not fond of live versions.

They're better, but the ambiance of the studio recording can't be matched. I only have a couple of '96 bootlegs (Showbox and Berlin are the only ones off the top of my head) and I like those versions, but still prefer the studio recording.

The performance of the song at the '96 Toronto show was fantastic.

I remember hearing it on the radio and realizing just how much a drummer can change your sound. Going from Dave Abruzzese to Jack Irons was a big big difference, in my ears. In addition, I think Eddie's work on Dead Man Walking with Nusrat Ali Fateh Can also affected this song greatly.

I love the tongue in check reference to the "moss in the aforementioned verse" as well. Between this and olympic platinum, shows PJ does have a slight sense of humor.

I was listening to No Code in my car a couple of months back and I remember it just hitting me how great this song is. I've always liked it, yeah, but at that moment I fell in live with it.
