Bass Painting Project

Ive got what looks like some type of Fender knock off from the seventies. Ive already stripped it. She has a sunburst finish whice i want removed, and i would like to paint her with some type of black holoflake. First, how do i go about removing the finish and prepping her for new paint? Second, how and what do i use to put the coats on? Third, is there a clear coat that goes on? I know exhausted and mccreadyisgod can help me. I hope. Lets make this a group effort . thanks
