Where should I start, I've heard only a few tunes (Two Daughters and Ronnie & Neil) and really liked them, so can you recommend some other songs or an album to start with.

For an album I'd suggest 'The Dirth South'. It's pure awesomeness!

Starting with Dirty South, Southern Rock Opera, or Decoration Day are all pretty safe bets. I'd go with Southern Rock Opera though, it's a great intro to Patterson/Cooley, who are the principal singers in the band and it's the album that brought them national attention. Jason Isbell was in for a few albums (Decoration Day, Dirty South, Blessing and a Curse) and his contributions are really strong too.

This is great advice... but don't wait too long to hear The Big To-Do or A Blessing And A Curse... which are two of my personal favorite DBT albums.

But I would say for a first jump, go for Southern Rock Opera or Dirty South. Dirty South is actually the record that pulled me in.

Also, their Live in Austin, TX album (which is from Austin City Limits) is a stunning live record.

The Dirty South....then maybe check out the greatest hits record...or the aforementioned Live from Austin City Limits...Southern Rock Opera, Decoration Day, Brighter than Creation's Dark....as a live band, they are tough to beat.

I really love everything about Southern Rock Opera. I like bits and pieces of stuff from the rest of their albums, but that one just floors me.

Recently caught A Secret to A Happy Ending and it gave alot of incite into their band dynamic and the history of the band. Hoping it jump starts a new wider appreciation for them.

Keep giving their other stuff a fighting chance, it will grow on you I'm sure. They're too great in their performing and songwriting abilities to not breakthrough.

agree 100% if you can find the mp3's do that too. never better than that period that DD and TDS came out. Still great but they were the tits with isbell.
