Axl Rose HOF induction absence

Postby nocode85 » Sun Apr 15, 2012 8:45 pm

What can I say that hasn't already been said about it but the guy is completely childish and selfish. I have been a huge Gn'R fan since I was a child and this was probably the biggest let down I could've imagined. You would think after 20+ years the guy would be able to look past some of the problems and just play 3 freaking songs and be done with it. Sorry to anyone out there who appreciates the 'new' Gn'R but they suck. Its actually pretty insane that Axl still goes around touring with that name and all those no-name clowns playing the songs Slash, Steven, Duff and Izzy wrote. No one goes to a Gn'R show now to hear anything from Chinese Democracy. Anyway, just thought I'd share my thoughts on the issue. It was cool to see the guys jam together again even with Myles Kennedy in place of Axl.

Axl was probably one of the best front man ever in the 90s but ego and influence got in the way of the music.

So you couldn't put this in the thread that is already about this?

Izzy skipped the ceremony as well, if he can skip it so can Axl. People need to stop whining about this.

I'd put Cobain, Vedder, Cornell, Staley ahead of him, way ahead.

That's probably why Axel didn't show among other things.

We're talking about a man that physically assaulted a fan and security, then told the crowd he was leaving and slammed the microphone down, ending the concert which led to a riot, all because somebody in the crowd had taken some still photographs. No bone-headed move that he does surprises me. I just wish people would stop caring so much about him not attending, as that's what he wants. He's still in the Hall, he's just not going to be at the induction ceremony, which isn't all that much of a travesty.

I know GNR fans were probably foaming at the mouth over seeing a reunion, but to me it's a bigger shame that people like Lennon, Hendrix, Brian Jones, Joplin, etc, were not alive to see themselves inducted. I'm not going to shed a tear over Axl not attending because he'd rather mope around the house or whatever. I support his right to not attend, and yeah maybe the Hall is a crock of shit, but I'm just not going to worry about it too much. In fact, I'm not even going to let this drama occupy my mind for one more second. Starting...................now.

Other than the children part (which many a broke teen to millionaire could cop to):

Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Marilyn Monroe ;) ..... I think there were a few bigger wastes :?

At least theyre still alive. Can we get off this horse now?

Axl is a talentless tool box.

And why anyone cares about the R&R HOF is beyond me.
