Just did injection no 19 of 21. This injection gets the eggs ready to release from their follicles so they can be collected on Thursday. The whole ivf process is so interesting! Medicine is amazing! :D:

Ahhh only one more day to wait....after waiting soooo long. Acupuncture again tomorrow! More needles!! :lol:

Hey just seeing this thread now, best of luck with everything, hope its successful... reckon me & her will be going down this road soon so its an interesting read as I know nothing about IVF really... :?

Just had my scan....5 follicles on the left ovary....5 on my right ovary = TEN all up. Wooo hooo! :clap: SUCH a relief. Dr said that between 6-10 follicles is the number they aim for. Glad I'm on the high side.

Each follicle may not necessarily contain an egg....but I'll know that on Thursday when they go inside to collect the eggs out of the follicles. Then there is about a 75% fertilisation rate. Then I get my best embryo put back inside next Monday/Tuesday.

Just got home from hospital. They collected five eggs! All good ones apparently (the embryologist talked to me as soon as I woke up from GA so it's a bit blurry -- wtf do they do that?).

My bf's sperm motility (how good they swim) wasn't that good today even though all tests in the past have been okay so they have decided to ICSI the eggs ie find the 5 best sperm and inject each egg with one....as opposed to getting a heap of good speem and putting with each egg and hope they swim hard and fertilise. Suits me. It actually increases success rates a little. And they are doing it for free. Normally about a grand more. Woo hoo!

We find out how many fertilised tomorrow. *prays*
