FREE Ukulele songs vinyl giveaway **WINNER**

Postby High Fidelity 2000 » Wed Feb 08, 2012 6:08 pm

To celebrate the fact that I am FINALLY going to get to see Eddie Vedder solo in April, I am going to do my first giveaway.

I am giving away the Ukulele Songs LP on vinyl with a couple of caveats (I hope I used that word correctly)

It does not include the songbook

It does not include the poster

It does not include the lyric book

It is just the record and cover, which it should be noted, has a bend/dent in the top right corner. Seems like records shipped from ten club get those kinda often during shipping... This would be good if you don't care about the books, have the hardcover songbook, have a copy but it got scratched etc...

Now if you still want to enter after all that (not sure if anyone does) here's the rest of the details...

This is open to those who live in the USA... Or you are welcome to enter if you live somewhere else so long as IF you win, you can send me a few bucks to cover shipping, if it's worth it to you. :)
If you are in the States, I will cover the shipping.

I'll leave the drawing open until at least February 20th.

To enter, let's say all you have to do is post here and tell me who one of your favorite people is that you have met through Pearl Jam. I don't mean one of the band members, but someone you might not have met had it not been for the music of PJ. It can be a board member, a partner, a friend, a child (heh heh) etc. In addition to meeting a few friends thanks to Pearl Jam, I also met my wife thanks to them. Had we not both been big fans of the band, neither of us would have known of the other's existence. So I guess it turned out alright, then, eh? :)

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions! See you on the 16th of April...

And the random drawing winner of the album is rbrum7... thanks for the stories from everyone.

Let me first say that I do NOT WISH TO WIN...I do NOT want the record....That said, I thought your entry stipulation was kind of cool...so I figured I would say a few words about a few people...just because....

I am going away from the board for this one.The folks I am going to mention, I am sure dont even come here...if they do, they lurk and I dont know about it!!...For me, there are MANY..Car S and C Doerr, without whom I would never have learned about b&p or trading in general...Gave me my start in 97 or so, were patient and are friends to this day! CD...I love you like a brother!! Lynn T...Rich W...Marianne, Mike D, Jess, JR, Kathy Jess L, I have learned so much about this band and music in general from you and would never have thought of travelling to a show outside my own city(wtf) without meeting you all! Bruce W( and Deb)...WOW....What do I say about you...You inspire me...You are one of the single greatest people I have ever met.....Your words speak to me like no one I have ever met..You are eloquent...honest and are looked up to by many..Thank you for always including me...Not sure what I did to deserve your friendship, but I am honored to be called your friend....And finally...DORIS....My friend...My confidant...I love you with all my heart! If not for the people above in some way shape or form, our paths would never have crossed....I could write for an hour about our friendship, so I will just say I am glad you are in my life......I have made more friends and experienced more because of you folks than I EVER would have had we not met...LIFELONG friends....People I trust, people I can turn too for ANYHTHING if needed, and people I simply love...We all dont talk as much as we use to or should, but I think of you all daily!! All of this becuase of one common and never wavering interest....PEARL JAM...who knew... :D
Never, ever, flipping forget

My friend was going to see Eddie last night. Since he was in Vegas, I gave him 5 Grand to gamble with. I told him I wanted it all to go on Black. Bastard! PhillyCrownOfThorns-11-2-12

Nice of you to give. I already have a copy so please don't include me.

Good entry qualification! It made me think of my first pj show in 98 when I smoked chocolate reefer. I swear it tasted like chocolate! Never seen or smoked it again. Has anyone come across something like this? I don't remember his name but I remember really enjoying each other during that smoke.

I've met so many great people on this forum that have been so generous with their time, effort and love for good music. Just to name a few: Kanyeta Koffee, mike the messenger, better Dan, MFC2006, JMO, SuMay, ScttPerry, crazypjfan... The list goes on and on.
At this point even without the perk of fan club tickets I'd stay in the club for all you good folks.
Take Care I need the Uke LP ;).

Aside from the great people here....

I for one don't really enjoy going to the doctor. The poking, the prodding... There are other things I'd rather do. After the Spectrum run in '09 that all changed.

I was one of many who left those shows with that awful swine flu. I literally laid on our couch for 5 straight days following those shows. Had to go to the Dr's. I had to see the nurse practitioner. She has to one of the most gorgeous girls I've ever seen.

Now, if I happen to sneeze wrong I'm at the Dr's

Thanks for the chance!

wow, I could be here all day but let's go with someone new as I already bored you all over the years with how I met my wife etc because of this glorious and amazing band.

Let's go with one of my newest friends in "nothingman203" and in fact, if I win, I will have the Uke album sent directly to him as I am guessing he doesn't have it.

Thanks for this chance and I enjoy everyone's responses

Met one of the best friends (more than that really) through a mutual friend. I came from the UK to see PJ in Holland and there was a big travelling group of us from all over the world. 2 people were Dutchies so spread amongst them the joined travelling group had a place to stay. We went for meal one night and there was a girl who came to join us, she had come from USA (Virginia) and didn't know anyone so this mutual friend invited her to dinner..

Lo an behold we went to Nijmegen the day after been chatting non stop since then, we met after that in California seeing PJ @ Bridge School 2010, PJ20 and Canada 2011 and now Europe 2012. And we'll probably be together for her soon to be 200th show.

Thank you Dave for mentioning me. I would have to say the same about Dave as well. Since my first day on the board he reached out and we have chatted almost every day since, not only helping me with starting a collection and acclimating me to the site, but also keeping me company while I am deployed. He is a great guy and and I cant wait to hang out with him when I come back stateside in about 2 months and hopefully catch a show together. And no, I do not own Uke Songs :)

During my days as a DJ on my college radio station, I met one of my very good friends. I would regularly get a phone call from a girl asking me to play Pearl Jam. Eventually when I took notice of the trend and I invited her to the studio to see how the magic was made. So rather than a phone call every week when I was on-air she would stop by and help me select the play list. During the 3 song stretch we would have talks about music and each others personal lives. We shared our passion for music and I got to know about her as a person. I got to find out about how she was born with Cystic Fibrosis and how she lives her life to the fullest each day. She told me about her treatments and how she was usually excluded from social engagements with friends. So, we hung out all the time. She went to her first PJ show with me and I went to my first CF walk-a-thon with her. She showed me how to help and love people that I don’t even know. We still keep in touch all these years later, but with a wife and kids of my own, it get’s harder and harder. If you don’t know anything about CF, spend a few minutes getting to know what it’s about and how you can help http://www.cff.org It’s not a fashionable cause the way some others are and it doesn’t get a lot of attention, but any help you can give is better than nothing.

Good Luck everyone and thanks for the chance.
