What to say what wasn't said already. I am so happy to see the movie. It was like time mashine... I was moved back to my teens when for the first time I saw and heard PJ on TV. I love the way the movie was done... well maybe that's just because I love PJ so much :). But the truth is I have to watch the movie once again (at leaat) cuz I probably missed some things :). I wish I haven't seen my band live but lucky enough to meet some nice ppl here.
Some may ask, "Why act now? Why not wait? - The answer is clear. The world could wait no longer

I've already answered that question with "watch Pearl Jam Twenty", and will again many, many times, I'm sure..........thanks PJ, and Cameron Crowe :)

Just got home from the New York City Premiere....

WOW. I was absolutely blown away, this doc was so amazing, and so perfect. I got chills, and there were points a bit overwhelmed emotionally.

I could not have asked for anything more. Pure perfection. Hilarious, sad, and awesome.

Thanks Cameron, and thank you Pearl Jam for defying the odds and sticking together. Thanks for being my favorite band.

Here's to a life time of music ahead.

Just back from the showing at the iPic theater in Scottsdale, AZ (btw, seven sold out showings tonight, so why hasn't the band played here since 2003???)

Loved the movie. I'll echo what others have said, it was a walk down memory lane seeing the history because it's my history too. I remember every nuance of change, every hairstyle and set decoration, the evolution of the songs and band members through my 60 or so shows from 1994 on. It was great to see a flash of some familiar faces in the crowd, I can't wait to get the DVD so that I can stop the action and get a good look. The iPic theaters have these premium seats which are recliners and servers take your dinner and drink orders seat side. I was sitting there with my feet up, with my pillow, blankie and popcorn that the theater provides with your ticket and watching the churning mosh pits on screen, thinking about the days when I made that rush for the door to get to the rail in front of Mike and fought hard to keep my place. Wow, how times have changed. I'm such a pussy now!!

I was tapping my toes and bobbing my head through the whole thing, mouthing the words, trying not to sing out loud. When the lights came up the smile on my face would rival Jack Nicholson's Joker in Batman. I thought there was a nice mix of old and new history, a good focus on the original core band members, and so many moments that remind me why I love this band. Yes, I would have liked to see more about the drummers, and there was nothing about Boom, but how do you fit 20 years of history into a 2 hour movie. Something needs to be left for the 30 year retrospective, yes?

When I left the theater all I wanted to do was talk about PJ and my hubby just wanted to go back to sleep (he crashed about 20 mins before the ending, damn recliners!) I put MSG 6/25/08 on in the car and now I'm all hyped up, need to get up for work in 6 hours and there's no way I'm getting to sleep anytime soon. Can't wait for Vancouver this weekend!

Thanks Pearl Jam & Cameron Crowe!

Peace,
KJ

LOVED IT. Got chills, got sad, got happy. I could have sat in that theater and watched a full week of PJ material. I'm not kidding. I wouldn't have showered and my girlfriend would have hated me - but I wish that movie was 166 hours longer.

One thing real quick: I just wish they would have put more of the Big 3 in the doc - Vitalogy, No Code, Yield - but that's what the book is for.

Fav moment
Stone (in his basement ) 'Oh look theres a grammy!'

Loved every minute of it!!!!
Though I think Im a pearljamologist there were still a few things I never knew about them, ie maniac driving into Eds brick wall at the front of his house.
It was funny, ie 'Fuck Jeff Ament!', boys in the van discussing Mookie Blaylock
It was exciting, ie Ed doing his climbing escapades
Very emotional as well; ie Release, Chris Cornell remembering Andy Wood
I had it all once I gave it back

One of the most amazing things i've ever seen.

I didnt get along to see a pearl jam show ever since berlin and im going mental over it.. i MUST see another show before this band decides to put their guitars on the rack.. thats the one bit im most afraid of i will die if it happens

I think the movie was great, i was waiting to see a bit more footage from after shows behind the stage, or a bit more of history that was missing to me.

from 0%-65% of the movie i was totally about to cry from overwhelming emotions
i think they lost it half way through the movie, it just lost direction and was a bit chaotic jumping between people and eras and they left a few holes or gaps open.

overall was amazing to see pj in a movie theatre, im so disturbed right now, i must see them again live in europe or i will cry.

i really hope this time the tours will be announced more ahead of time so it will give us time to let our job know that on the date X we are taking a holiday.

i really hope the bonus features of the dvd/blue ray will fill in those so much needed gaps

thanks pearl jam.. i think i became alive when i first got hooked on your music/art

Saw it in Plymouth, UK and was pleasantly surprised with how busy it was, there were very few seats left.
I've never known a cinema audience that was so attentive and quiet, or that had so many stay seated at the end until the film ran out and the lights came on.
As always, Cameron has done an awesome job and it didn't disappoint at all. Highlights were same as a lot of everyone else's - Stone's grammy discovery, Ed's fury at security, Mike's 'inner beast', Singles Party, etc.
Was awesome to see and hear it at the cinema, to experience it with that clarity of sound/picture that I strongly doubt by own TV will match... :)

Two hours never flew by so fast!

Can't wait for the blu-ray & extras.

Oh and now I'm itching even more to see a live show as soon as I can!

Saw pj in Cleveland. Family event, parents went. Mom saw pj in 2006. brother also there. Dad's first pj experience.

I thought it could have been longer. SO much good footage. surprised not much on Green River. Drummer situations handled well. Thought maybe after ticketmaster talk about how ten club sells tickets and perhaps scen es from destination weekend would have been included.

very good. Enjoyed it much. Want to see them live VERY soon after seeing the movie and I just saw them in Toronto.

Saw the 2nd showing here in Columbus at Studio 35 theater at 9:30pm last night (the 7:00pm showing sold out before I could get a ticket). Both the 7:00pm and 9:30pm showings were sold out and they added another show for tomorrow. I really enjoyed the movie, although I think the theater could have had the sound turned up a little more as it was sometimes hard to hear what was said in some of the footage (although that might have been because of the poor audio quality of the source footage in some cases). I noticed that in the trailer David Lynch is interviewing Eddie and while they did show David Lynch in the movie, they didn't have the scene with him interviewing Eddie. Maybe that will be in the bonus footage on the blu-ray version I just ordered.

I thought the segment about the Pearl Jam drummers was amusing, but I kind wish they would have gone into more detail about what happened with Dave. It seems they just decided to make it all a humorous bit and in that way avoid going into any details. Oh well.

In a funny coincidence, a guy who sat just behind me tonight was in the row just in front of me at last years Pearl Jam concert at Nationwide arena here in Columbus.

I saw it in Long Beach - fascinating, emotional film. My favorite moment: Release. I'll be buying this on Blu-Ray when I can afford it. 8-)
