After Eddie I think he his the best solo artist.....his singing, his writing ability and the way he plays his beat up guitar is AMAZING!!! His is amazing at everything he does including The Swell Season, The Frames and even acting in the movie Once....Who else agrees with me!!!???

I can't say I'm that familiar with all his work - but I saw him at the Seattle show (the night before yours Rico), and I thought he was top notch, first rate, world class, right up to the mark - phrases like that! Had Eddie not been coming on, and I had gone solely to see Glen Hansard, I might have been blown away - but I really did enjoy his set. I probably should get to know his work better. Any pointers for where to start?

Well I would say get the Swell Season's first album called The Swell Season...after that get The Frame's album Burn the Maps and then get the second Swell Season album called Strict Joy!

The guy is an absolute treasure. One of the best songwriters out there right now.
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."

I hadn't gotten to see him before this weekend, and I was floored. he was amazing...so much raw power and emotion in his voice...and he looks like he has so much fun--which is always good to see! I was moved to tears during Falling Slowly with the random fan from the crowd :-)
Need a tour Travel Agent??? Pick me :-)

Glen and Ed doing that song together on EV's solo tour was fantastic. I was like wow. Enjoyed "sleepless nights" too.

seems like a really nice guy. i think once was one of the best movies of the last decade, and have seen the swell season twice.

plus the fact that he's friends with damien rice and lisa hannigan is always a plus.

the last few years, in dublin, on christmas eve, bono, damien rice, glen and others all gather outside in the street and sing songs, christmas songs and each others songs. how cool would that be?
