I get to listen to the game at work......

Life is good, and warm weather is on the way.......

Nothing like the sound of the first crack of the bat, it just makes you feel warmer.

I love the eternal optimism of a new baseball season.

this is a bad team without a 4 or 5th starter, unproven closer (marmol), weak middle relief, a lame-duck manager. don't wait until these stars lose value (sammy for hairston and bags of balls, pie for crap, patterson for nothing).

Man -- this is the first year in a while I go in with no hope. They did nothing in the offseason and have just as many problems as before...

I guess if I don't have high hopes my disappointment won't be as big this time?

And to be honest I had no hope for them until they went all Yankees over the free agency!

But I'll take it... they actually could do something with the moves they made and if they can get Atogwe.

but that's another thread... I just hope the Cubs have a trick up their sleeve. I just don't see it though - they really passed on FA this year and made no real moves otherwise.

Well it's just about time. Anyone see Tim Kurkijan say on ESPN tonight that "Dusty Baker" is gonna try and find playing time for Colvin, and then have Ravich correct him and say Lou Pinella. Funny stuff. Watched the "What it means to be a Cub" special on WGN, they ended with "Someday We'll go all the way" as the credits scrolled. Good stuff. Let's go Cubs, all though I'm predicting 77 wins.

IF we can stay healthy, I fully expect the Cubs to battle for the division.
That said, I also fully expect them to get swept in the first round of the playoffs.
