Ill ride the wave where it takes me

and

Are you woman enough to be my man
Bandaged hand in hand
fuck 'em if they can't take a joke

"those who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe are as good as dead"

Very difficult, but a few jump out...

"... I got memories, I got shit
So much it don't show..."

"...I cannot stop the thought
of running in the dark
Comin' up a which-way sign
all good truents must decide..."

"...Progress laced with ramifications
Freedom's big plunge..."

"... For every tool they lend us
A loss of independence..."

"...Seems that needlessly it's getting harder
to find an approach and a way to live..."

"...Who's kidding? Rainy day, a one-way ticket headstone
Occupations overthrown, a whisper through a megaphone..."

Ooh, remembered another favourite:

"I know someday you'll have a beautiful life,
I know you'll be a sun in somebody else's sky, but why
Why, why can't it be, why can't it be mine"

Dirty Frank isn't my favorite song, but I think these lyrics are very creative, and ironic. I'm impressed with the writing of these lyrics.

Now, more than ever, "Nothingman"

Postby MD7886 » Sat Feb 27, 2010 1:52 am

As a lifelong PJ fan (well since 1991 anyway) some of their songs have had different meanings to me over the years. "Nothingman" is probably the quintessential song in the PJ catalog that summarizes one of the worst times in my life. That being said, it's allowed me to heal understanding that I'm not the only one who's gone through it...

"She once believed...in every story he had to tell...
One day she stiffened...took the other side...
Empty stares...from each corner of a shared prison cell...
One just escapes...one's left inside the well...
And he who forgets...will be destined to remember...
Nothingman...
Nothingman...
Isn't it something?
Nothingman...

CanadasPearl,

So, as I always ask when I run into a Canadian PJ fan - are you also a big Our Lady Peace fan? (sometimes referred to as Canadian Pearl Jam)?

Just curious.

Not really, I haven't listened to them in years. They do have have a few good ones out there though, but not enough for me to refer to them as the Canadian Pearl Jam :)
