OK Yankees / Pearl Jam Fans-

how many of us are going to be congregating
out in The Canyon Of Heroes Friday for the hysteria that is
a NYC tickertape parade ?

anyone else a little embarrassed for matsui that he needed an interpreter to accept his mvp award? i understand people that don't know the language need interpreters, but thats just it, he's been playing ball here making millions for like 5 years, ya think he could have gone out of his way to get himself rosetta stone by now??

I think he speaks english some. I think it was just a big moment and he wanted to make sure he did not mess up and say the wrong thing in case he misinterpreted a question.

no. maybe he knows some English but not enough to feel comfortable expressing himself properly in it.

Spot on. I have read a lot of places that he speaks english very well but is not comfortable conducting big interviews in English

It definitely does. It's easy to think someone could do that but when there's a bunch of microphones and tape recorders in your face, it's not that easy.

I'll be there!!! Can't wait!! What a great fucking week for me!! 4 Pearl Jam shows at the Spectrum, and my beloved New York Yankees winning their 27th World Series Championship!! I think I'm gonna go buy some lottery tickets now!!

also he seemed to fully understand everything being said in english without his interpreters assistance , but as others pointed out he probably wasnt comfortable in speaking his broken up english .
