As for budget, we're not gonna be high rolling at all, I'd say we'd like to keep our meals pretty reasonable, I don't want to be eating at $30 a plate places. If I had any specific desires for food, I'd say I want to do a few microbrews, and try at least one seafood place.
I'd say I also really just want to catch some good general sight-seeing too. Like trains that might give us a good view of the city, neighborhoods to check out, museums or whatever. Having lived in Chicago before, I felt like I got to experience SOOO much more when I started to explore individual neighborhoods instead of doing the tourist bull shit everyone associates with Chicago. That's where you really got a feel for the city.
I'm going to be staying in Beaverton for at least 2 nights I think BTW, so maybe some suggestions for there would be good too.
If you are coming from the midwest, you might have interest in a trip to the Oregon Coast. The weather usually sucks, but its a very nice coastline and usually very few people on the beaches here compared to other beach locations. Its only about 1.5 hours drive or so. Cannon Beach is neat.
