DAMN! Didn't even catch that. That changes a lot for me too. Really wanna see MMJ, never have seen them live before, but BoH justified that 60 dollar ticket + train to/from the city and subway expenses. Dunno if I'm gonna go now :(

wow. really? i actually wish it was shabazz palaces opening for the shows i'm going to. i've never made a decision whether or not to go to a show based on the opening act. especially when the opener is a bland/lesser version of the headliner, as dewie alluded to.

generally speaking, if you can justify dropping 80+ to see eddie vedder strum his guitar, or 90 dollars to watch pearl jam from far away, then spending 60 to have mmj melt your face from the visual perspective of your choice is a no brainer.

is it really 60? i was expecting 52.

forecastle, merriweather, and the mann for me this year. debating on doing the red rocks shows, but it just doesn't seem practical at this point. either way, it's not a complete summer without an mmj tour.

I didnt think so, thats why I wanted to mention it. Shabazz Palaces is amazing live though, and I would pick them over BoH anyday. But I can see a lot of people on this forum not feeling the same to be honest.

Yeah, checked out Shabazz Palaces on YouTube and just not my cup of tea. Band of Horses is one of my favorite bands, I'm a bigger BoH fan than MMJ fan to be honest. Wish this show came earlier in the year when I hadn't already spent so much money on so many summer shows! But who knows, concert-lust might get the best of me and I may just buy a ticket last minute! :)

To be quite honest, the Williamsburgh shows almost always had tix going for cheap outside the venue when the venue was the Williamsburgh Waterfront. Not sure if this will be the case here, but I would not be surprised if it is.

What is the area around the Williamsburg venue like? Are there places to stay? If not, what would be the best option?

join the roll call and you won't need one. it's more than worth it. last year i scored second row dead center on the isle for the mann center. can't beat that.

It's not really $30, it's $43 once they add shipping. There's a separate presale for people who are only on their mailing list on Thursday, you could try that.

yeah 30 whole dollars! which gets you all kinds of perks and a t shirt. not to mention guaranteed premier seating at any venue that is not entirely general admission. i guess what it boils down to is whether or not you want to do your part to score good seats, or if you just want to gamble and get stuck towards the back.

go to mymorningjacket.com. make sure you are logged into your roll call account. click on the 'tour link' on the menu bar, find your show, wait til noon, and click on tickets. you'll be all set from there. after you purchase your tickets, if you want to get vip soundcheck passes, click on vip upgrade ($40). this will get you access to a pre-show soundcheck of 3-4 songs, a laminated commemorative access pass, and the screen-print poster for that show ($25-$30 value)
