NOBODY should EVER have had to go on after James Brown.

That's just cruel.

They are either really good or really bad. Unfortunately you never know what you're going to get .

I'll be there. Hard to pass them up when they're playing 20 minutes from your house. I don't have high hopes anymore after this thread. And you're right, buying tix was the worst experience I've had w/ TM since U2 in 2005.

This is the problem with RHCP live. I saw them three times in June 2004 (all 3 shows with James Brown as support) and two of the shows were just ok but the other one was really, really good. The 2 'off' shows were both in Hyde Park, London (the shows that became the 'Live In Hyde Park' cd) and they just seemed bored, like they weren't into it. Maybe it was the sound in an open air setting, I don't know.

I also saw the show in Cardiff a few days later and they were so much better. I wasn't really looking forward to it as the HP shows had been a let down (I had a free ticket so I decided to go) but I'm so glad I went. They just seemed to be enjoying it more and I think that's the key - if they're in the right mood and are having fun then they are really good live.

I would probably see them again the next time they're near. I really liked the new album and it'd be interesting to see them with Josh (and it'd be cool to even things up - 2 bad shows and 2 good shows :) )

saw the RHCP in St. Paul on the Stadium Arcadium tour with the Mars Volta. Enjoyed the show a lot and thought the jam at the end with the Mars Volta guitarist and Frusciante going crazy was great. Only time I've seen them, but was pleased was the result.

Yeah I've got seats somewhere on the floor. It took 45 minutes to get in, then I was throwing junk tickets back for 30 more minutes.

I think we saw them in 2000 with the Foo Fighters. I thought Anthony K seemed a little out of energy, but who am I to judge? I've never been up there singing and dancing at the same time, so I don't know what it feels like. the worst part was when Flea sang. his voice was flat and the words were like a sixth grader who learned a dirty word wrote them. overall, they were good. I'd go again....as long as I could be seated.

I've seen them about 4 times and I think the only complaint I could think of is one of the shows had bad sound (WAY TOO LOUD).

other than that, the energy was great though they were in my all time favorite bands at the time. Besides that, they had amazing opening bands: Foo Fighters, QOTSA, Mars Volta and being the final band at woodstock 99

I think the only bad experience I had was having a hard time finding my car in Albany after the show in a torrential downpour=p
