I just wanted to share with you quality music and one of my favourite Natalie Merchant's song. I have also shed some tears while I was listening to this song. Most of the times though, I have goosebumps. As far as your last statement is concerned, I couldn't agree more with you. Every time I listen to My Beloved Wife, I remember my late grandmother who stopped caring about herself after she lost her husband (my grandfather). She used to say that now that I'm lost my man I'm all alone. I have nothing left in the world for me. I want to die so I will be able to meet him up in the sky. Unfortunately, we lost her 10 years after my late grandfather passed away. But, it wasn't true because she had her children (including my father) and her grandchildren (including me) to help her to go through that. But, you probably already know that when you love someone and you loose him/her nothing in the whole world can replace him/her.

Thank you for the beautiful words.... :D I'm smiling now....

I have a similer story with my grandparents from my dads side. My grandfather died exactly a year later on the "same" day his wife died. He lived to be 90 yrs old when he died ( in his sleep ). My grandmother was 86 yrs old. She fell and broke her hip. She just never recovered.

My family is from Palermo, Italy ( I hope I'm spelling that right )

Seven Years....
http://youtu.be/sMpA5DrS8aQ

How did I love you?
There was no measuring
Far above this dirty world
Far above everything
In your tower over it
You were clean

So warm and insightful
Were you in my eyes
I was sure the rightful
Guardian of my life
Damn you betrayer
How you lied

But for seven years
You were loved
I laid golden orchid crowns
Around you feet ....

For seven years
I bowed down
To touch the ground
So wholly your devotee ....

You were
All that I could see ....

I've got my sight now
I see everything you hid
So don't you try to right now
All the wrong you did
I might forget you
But not forgive

But for seven years
You were loved
I laid golden orchid crowns
Around your feet

For seven years
I bowed down
To touch the ground
So wholly your devotee

For seven years
You were so revered
I made offerings of
Anything and everything I had

You were
All that I could see ...
I'd rather live on a side of a mountain, than wonder through concrete and steel, I'd rather laugh with the rain and sunshine...

I am the shoreline, but you're the sea...

Saw her in either 99 or 2000 in new haven. I yelled this song out and she played it. I think it was during the Ophelia tour. She does a great cover of after the gold rush.

It will be so worth it! I saw her live in a small venue in NYC a few years ago. So amazing, and I heard it wasn't even her best show (I think she did like a 5 night run or something).

Natalie Merchant narrates this, if anyone is interested. Showing on the Smithsonian Channel, which of course I don't have

THE ORIGINS OF OZ
"The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" is a children's story unlike any other. Enthusiastically embraced by young and old alike, author L. Frank Baum's beloved classic was the "Harry Potter" of its day. It has been adapted and re-invented by multiple generations and has inspired the most beloved characters and iconic pair of shoes in pop-culture history. But how did this classic tale come to be? Visit the locations that inspired Baum's Land of Oz, dig into his family's archival collection, and hear interviews with fans and historians as we share this heart-warming story of the man behind the

I love Natalie Merchant. Saw her with 10000 Maniacs back in 1986 and several times thereafter. Favorite song by her is Verdi Cries...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4pE9-_gL88
It's nice to be nice to the nice.
