You're thinking they won't tour because of 5 dates in March for a side project? Yeesh, oh ye of little faith. Unlike Pearl Jam, these guys hit the road every fn year. 2012 will be a big year with big setlists and big surprises. I guar-on-tee it!

Not sure if it will be a slate of tour dates, but all signs point at least to MMJ headlining the Forecastle Festival in their hometown of Louisville. Forecastle has a press conference for 11 AM as well, and tweeted "The day is coming" yesterday.

It's a pretty nice little festival, which has grown by leaps and bounds in the ten years it's been here, finally moving in 2010 to the Great Lawn of the city's Waterfront Park, when Smashing Pumpkins and Flaming Lips headlined. They took 2011 off, as the founder sold the festival to AC Entertainment (owners of Bonnaroo) and took a job with them. Hopefully, the experience and clout of the new promoter will make this year's a solid festival with a good overall lineup. I guess we'll find out today!

I was hoping for a headlining gig at The Gathering of the Juggalos.

So disappointed. No tour dates. No aurora borealis. A whole lot of nothing.

Still holding on to a thread of hope that we'll get a Radiohead announcement.
And if that happens, I'll be OK with MMJ taking a summer off.
But until then...

They aren't taking the summer off, just havent announced yet. And Radiohead will be coming to Boston too. No doubt. If not, I want another Carl Broemel solo album.

Is it weird that I change the lyric to "Holdin onto black leather" or "Holdin onto black pedal" every time now?

Yeah, esp since both are wrong. :D

I'd welcome new Carl solo album too. I'd definitely wait to check some setlists before seeing MMJ again, unless they were playin somewhere really cool.

Very true. You and I were the only ones into Carl.

edit: or I'll say "Holdin onto black sweater"

Crap.

Now I'm going to hear that every time I listen to the song.

Curse you, Fenway Faithful! :x
