Early 90's Epiphones

Looking at an early 90's Epi LP Standard (not sure of the exact year). Anyone have any knowledge on these? Getting it at a pretty good price too and it looks pretty clean and all original.

i can tell you my late 90's epi LP is "serviceable", and while not quite as hot as the pickups in an real LP, i don't have a lot of complaints. Straight neck, plays just fine. Still works a decade later. Needs a new input jack (loose contact pin inside, makes noise), but that's probably my fault for setting it down repeatedly with the cable in it. Doesn't stay in tune quite like a good LP, but doesn't fall out of tune a whole lot either.

tobacco burst is HOT.

you can always spend a little dough and change out the pickups if you just have to have better ones ... but i've never bothered with mine.

If any of the REAL players get on here (MiG, Pac) they could prolly give you the pros & cons of an epi.
or possibly steer you towards some Gibson copy guitar that they may think is better (not sure but i'm sure they know of 2 or 3, lol) ...

The only con i really see, is if you were paying show room new price ...
like i said, prolly better to get a Gibson USA studio at that price ...
but for $200
fuck it man.
if you ain't got nothin better, or you got a fender and you want gibson ...
why not?

Thats a good deal, but if you mod it like I do you'll spend more. I have an Epip with Sperzel Tuners, Tone Pros bridge and tail piece, Dimarzon Evo matched set, coil tap on the neck pickup, bone nut. Sweet guitar, make some mods and its a great piece.

I've owned a few Epiphones over the years, a few Les Pauls and a couple of semi acoustics and they've all been really decent guitars. I love the care and attention they put in to them and I've never felt the need to change hardwear for any reasons other than cosmetic. I've always had an Epi in my collection... :)

Right now this is a good addition I'm very happy with. For $200 - 300 you can go wrong I say.
