if you know it's not his thing then why would you want him to do something that he didn't want to do?

and to the people bitching that he didn't meet and greet... pretty sure no where on the ticket it promised you a meet and greet...

stone isn't mike or ed... deal with it... enjoy his performance and then be on your way... he doesn't know you and doesn't want to hang out with you

chasing someone just so they can put ink on paper...

oh happy....and his "corporation enema"....

Stone was brilliant. My two friends I brought with me were amazed at how into him I am/was....to them,
I'm some nutty Pearl Jam fan. I wish I had the ability to articulate why I love them so much, why the way Stone plays heals my soul, why I was tickled pink that Stone has the same sexy-nerd dance moves he's had for years.

Purple Rain/COT was beautiful. When Shawn was introducing all the band members, everyone
cheered the most for Stone. Shawn said, "what, do you guys like him best or something?" Can't quite
remember what he said, something about comparing it to graduation (you know, when some people
get more support than others while they're walking across the stage). Anyone remember what he said?

I'm so happy I was in the crowd with some of my Jamily--you guys must have been RIGHT next to me!

I know how Stone is at PJ shows, wasn't sure how he would be at Brad. Maybe Brad brings out a different side of Stone that I hadn't seen before.

And why the need to zero in on all the things you don't like about what people are saying anyway? OP asked what people thought of the show, and people are responding to that. Why the need to scold them?

I love the guy. Seen him a number of times in cincy and columbus.

I did not enjoy him  . I think it takes a lot of charisma to pull off a solo performance and I've been spoiled with Chris Cornell/Ed shows. Clearly not Happy's fault but that's my benchmark now! I also generally prefer bands, a big part of what I love about live music is the band interaction with each other and the crowd.

Bummer. I've always really liked Happy solo. Also his old band. I think he pulls off a great solo show, but to each their own.

Did he play Sanctify, Me and My Machine, If I could murder the right man? It's been so long since I've seen him (i moved away from ohio). I saw him in Chicago opening for RJD2 and then grinnell iowa later opening for RJD2 during a bad snow storm. Hell of a drive.

Anyhow, great guy, fun music. Sorry you didn't enjoy it. I wish I could have seen him this tour.

I'm sorry I didn't enjoy it either and definitely wish you could have seen it instead of me! It wasn't awful by any means, I'm always appreciative of musicians who pour themselves into the show and he certainly was doing that. I didn't enjoy it but wasn't disappointed, if that makes any sense :D

He did play If I Could Murder The Right Man! I can't remember the rest but maybe someone else might.

Happy did a great job!! Hopefully he picked up a bunch of new fans last night. I know the Philly crowd really enjoyed him. His set was only on piano in Philly and NYC, so that limited what he could play.

Happy was, let's say.. Interesting. He is definitely Happy.

I guess I'm in the minority. I thought the worst 2 songs were easily Shawn's butchering of Purple Rain and Crown. The rest was phenomenal. Keith was great driving the bass. He was first to come out right after show ended. Shook his hand, and he spent some time talking to some other folks right on the floor. Stone sounded great. The entire band was very good. Shawn was engaging on stage.

Great venue. Great show. But, have to say I'm surprised by the love for that rendition of Crown.

As for merch - they did have the vinyl and CD's there for the new album, but that was all I saw (well besides the t-shirts for the Gramercy Theater - just the theater, not Brad at the theater).
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

it seemed like every 3rd person was giving Stone shit for not doing things how they want

i found that disrespectful and wanted to comment on it... this is a message board right? ;)

Really really fantastic show! Right up front (2nd 'row') right near Shawn and Stone. I liked Brad leading up to the show but WOW- they brought it live!! Definitely a much bigger fan after having seen their show. The band was on fire, and Shawn sounded great!! It was unbelievably cool to see Stone in such an intimate venue, so up close. Last time I saw him was from half-court in the 200s of MSG (Mike's side)! Little different perspective this time :) Diamond Blues, 20th Century, and Crown of Thorns were the highlights for me. I knew Shawn was probably going to do Crown of Thorns and was thinking before the show, 'Can't wait to hear that, but I'll bet that I'll be thinking, 'Wish that was Ed singing up there''--totally not the case! Gorgeous rendition of the song, awesome to hear the crowd sing along too. Met a bunch of really, really nice people around me, as is always the case at any PJ/PJ-related show!

Was able to meet everyone after the show except for Stone, who left through the other exit. Disappointing, but hey- what can ya do! The rest of the band was very gracious and nice-really cool guys all around! So glad I went to this show!

They played hard & loud, thumpin bass, great vocals and Stone totally shreddin.
The place wasn't packed but there was a decent crowd.
I thought they were much better tonight then the last 2x I saw them.

Where were you standing during this show? Did you happen to be standing in front of Shawn four or five deep?
The sound was killer!
