Just listened to badmotorfinger and I'm in awe of the album...it's been 5 years since I listened to it,,,, Matt is amazing and definitely a much better fit with the garden.... Soundgarden are a more musically creative band... I hope they inspire pj to do something interesting

Ya I think it's better than any PJ album...maybeeee
Binaural is the best album. 2000 is the best tour ever. Bring back the Ayotte!

Matt in SG is a far different drummer than he is in PJ.
I do think he is far too rigid in PJ. That's NOT on Matt either. I just think PJ loves to play it safe these days and having that kind of talent behind the kit and not using his full potential is a bit of a shame to me.

I was very stoked about the prospect of potentially landing Matt for Pearl Jam when it seemed there might first be a remote possibility. When PJ finally landed him and started putting out albums with him, I was surprised at how underwhelmed I was. His drumming with PJ wasn't at all what I was expecting. Take that whatever way you want, but I just haven't been that impressed with Matt with PJ, but I do love a lot of his stuff with Soundgarden. However, I like PJ waaaaaaay more than Soundgarden as a whole. So this isn't a Soundgarden fan with lament speaking. ;)

As good (or bad) Matt is as a drummer, pearl jam has proven over the years that they could have my 11 year old on drums and still be the best band ever!

You're all insane. Matt Cameron is a rhythmic god who for a brief time walks among us here on earth. We are all better for having been in his presence and having bathed in his percussive sonic joy. Also, he's the best drummer Pearl Jam has ever had and I hope like hell he can play for Soundgarden and Pearl Jam FOREVER.

While I don't really pay any attention to the bass or drums, I agree we need something interesting. We need a No Code or Binaural to make us say "What is this crap?", and then after a few listens "This is amazing!".

The albums soundgarden did with Dave A sound better ;)

(you made me put on the album btw for the first time in ages, not a soundgarden-fan or Cornelsl high pitched voice. He used it better in Audioslave :) )

Exactly..... They have been playing it safe lately.... Clearly my fave band but I want more from these guys than punk pop and couples rock,,,,
