Step out on the porch to discuss Pearl Jam's music, tour, appearances, causes they support, etc. It's all about Pearl Jam here.

On2legs, put yourself in our shoes and feel how frustrating it is not being able to reply to someone's thread with a silly or deep response until 10 hours later where the response becomes stale LOL. You got to respond to this thread instantly. Now imagine seeing this thread, having a response, and then having to wait 10 hours to do so. Again, not the end of the world but a frustrating consumer experience nevertheless.

I get that people are frustrated. But the nonstop quest for perfection from the Ten Club is an unrealistic expectation. The new site is still in beta testing so the message is loud and clear from the Ten Club - we are working on it. I just don't see the need to slam the Ten Club for a lack of "updates" when the site is still clearly being tested and evaluated.

Maybe they should have a status bar running constantly on the site to let us know what's going on...

love the graphic LOL...
i'm getting tired of explaining myself. Go back and read my 1st OP. No one is slamming anyone. Just getting something off my chest after 2 months of missing the true functionality that many experience and some including myself have lost.

This Ed avatar of mine is scaring the hell out of me each day.
Could we at least get this option fixed?

I really don't think they had any idea all of the issues that would result which is why I ask why after 2 months, we still have this "BETA" rolled out into Production with no contingency plan?

Per Kat, nothing was changing so I guess all of these are considered "hiccups"?

can't long into the site from work (pc) but can log into the site from home (mac).

so i don't know if i'm having a pc vs mac problem, a problem with my connection at work that the beta site doesn't like, or both.

wonder what platform the people are using that can log in 24/7 with no problems.

i used to admin a forum. it's not that hard to install software, upgrades and even do some mods to the layout.

I have to piggyback this statement. I also run a forum and it's honestly not very hard at all. I use the same software that 10C uses and it's very easy to maintain now a days.

I haven't posted as much around here lately but it's not really because of the problems. It's just summer time I got have a lot of shit going on. It is annoying that I have to hit Logout and then log back in every time I stop by though. I've never met a forum that doesn't have a "Keep me logged in" option either. Also on the PJ iPhone app it's been impossible to stay logged in since the new layout rolled out.

Maybe it'll end up being like Gmail and stay in Beta testing for like 5 years.

I'm another that is not able to log in. Drives me nuts, now I can't even chat because the site does not recognize me as logged in...

I too have a work isssued pc and phone, at first I thought it might be my work firewall so after a lunch on the line with help desk, I was assured it was not the firewall as 10c isn't blocked.

Tried on my old personal phone, Samsung Galaxy 2, and still was not able to post.

So for now, or until Beta is gone, I can only post when my son isn't using his laptop which isn't often. :(

I really don't think it is a PC vs. Mac issue or even a browser issue as I think they did get the original IE problem fixed. I use a Mac at home, a PC at the office, and a Windows netbook that I sometimes use at home and I have no problems using the site on any of those machines. I really don't ever use this site on my phone so I can't comment on that.

Since most seem to be having issues at work, something to consider and maybe talk to your IT people about is perhaps they use proxy servers and there is a problem with stale pages cached on the proxy. I used to administer a proxy server at a previous job and that thing caused a lot of problems. Sometimes old pages can get cached on the server and never get refreshed even though proxies are suppose to refresh content periodically. Sometimes I had to clear the proxy's cache completely to clear up issues.

The Ten Club has zero responsibility to "update" us on internal decisions regarding how they run their business. They're not a publicly traded company that has to have a stockholder meeting and none of us are on the board of directors at Ten Club Industries.

What you are effectively asking for is to let the inmates run the asylum and that is a guaranteed plan for failure.

Then what are you paying $20 or $40 a year for, not just the ability to buy tickets. Tickets can be bought from anywhere and get great seats if you have the cash to spend. I would assume the monies paid by club members allow website to function unless the band is paying personally for its operation. If so, the customer should be kept up to date with changes since they are a paying customer. If site were free and PJ footing the bill, they could do whatever the hell they wanted. Since 10 club requires a fee to access members only areas, in my opinion they should provide up to date info. If a company has a product they are trying to sell, they 100% have a responsibility to the customer otherwise that company or product will not exist for long.

keep up the articulate discussion and debate everyone as that's what this forum is for, right? We all are here because our love for this band so no matter our opinions, our hearts are in the right place. Some frustrations shown with the new forum are only because we are passionate about our band and with communicating with each other about the band.
Anyway, I won't be able to respond today...taking the boys and Mrs ElwayVedder to the beach/ocean for the day. I can read only from the beach on my phone and it will be frustrating not being able to reply but this time is probably a good thing as it means I can disconnect a little bit and focus on the fam and the ocean...

On a lighter note, I have to mention that I laughed my ass off at this status bar.

I paid a whole hell of a lot for an iPad. Much more than $40.

Does Apple owe me the right to know all the details of the next iPad release while its still in production?
