My high school girlfriend. I had just seen PJ for the first time at Summer Fest in Milwaukee in 1995 and was instantly obsessed. The first day of school that fall I'm walking to class and I see a girl with one of those old school Jansport back packs and on the back she has written "PEARL JAM" in white-out. I was in love! I didn't even see her face till a week later! Long story short, we ended up being together for about 5 years, and still have a great relationship with her now.

In 1998 when they added on the Palm Beach shows, we flew down to see them. We were too young to rent a car and too broke to get a nice hotel...well wouldn't you know you only needed to be 18 to rent a moving truck?! (at least back then). So we flew down, rented a U-Haul, and stayed in the back of it for 3 days while hitting those shows....man that was one of the best times of my life.

dude, that is fucking awesome. If this was a contest to get the best story, I think that might win! But I kinda figured I'd put all the names in a hat and pick one out... or borrow the Ten Club's random generator that picked out the EV solo ticket winners. ;)

18 year old lovebirds renting a U-Haul and staying in the back of it to hit the shows... that is just a total fucking winner right there! And you fell in love with her because of her backpack! So cute!

Keep them coming... few more days left...

Ha, well as it turned out she was pretty good looking and a great girl...but if it wasn't for that back pack I'm sure I never would have even approached her. She was like the cheerleading captain and all that kind of business and I was the guy in cordoury pants, a flannel shirt and long hair. PJ is certainly the thing that brought us together.

As a humerous side note, I vividly remember on our first date we were driving to a Denny's in my SWEET 1986 Dodge convertible and yellow ledbetter came on the radio. She was scanning the stations and went past it and I actually slapped her hand and moved the dial back out of reflex...I had to spend the whole night promising her I wasn't crazy or a woman beather or something!

I was going to give it one final bump in case there are any more last minute entries... I said I would leave it open until at least the 20th. ;)

Count me in.
Still go to PJ shows with the same people I did back when I first saw them in 1998.

Hola! No winner yet. Just haven't gotten around to scrolling through, taking out the "don't enter me" posts, and writing everyone's name down and doing a drawing... the ten club won't let me borrow their random number generator used in the lottery ticket sales! ;)

Soon though.... I promise. Someone will get this record.

I am finally going to do this drawing. Sorry for the delay, figured it might give more people a chance to enter, but I guess it's probably gotten buried by now... or people just want the album with all the books/extras. Anyway, I will write out each entrant and announce the winner later today.

The night I met my wife, I asked her for a ride back to my car.

She cranks the engine, and I hear a distinctive voice from the speakers.

It was Last Kiss.

When we get to my car, I turn to her friend and say (as if I am Ferris and shes the audience)

"This is the part where the boy asks the girl for her phone number"

Now we have 2 kids and mounting debt.

Thanks PJ
