Congrats! I still have 3 more 120s :D You should go check out their tavern sometime in Rehobeth!

my sister was saying that we should plan a weekend trip some time this summer.. i hope it doesn't fall through

You definitely should...it's pretty busy in the summer, since that's tourist time...but you should still be able to get in there...good beer at the beach...always a good thing :D

I am going to be in the Bay Area this weekend and I am gonna check out Lagunitas brewery. I am stoked for that. Their Old Gnarly Wine was the best beer at the Portland Holiday Ale Fest this last year.

Nice! Don't forget Russian River Brewing Co. and Bear Republic. They're all clustered around Santa Rosa, right up the 101 from Petaluma (Lagunitas). 15 min drive from Lagunitas to Russian River, then about another 15 min from Russian River to Bear Republic. Make sure you have a DD though! Haha.

On a recent visit to California (we took the kids to Disneyland, so there wasn't a lot of time to drink)we tried some beers that were new to us and enjoyed some we had tried before, but can't get in Canada. We enjoyed:
Firestone Pale Ale
Stone Pale Ale
Stone IPA
Kona Fire Rock Pale Ale (my fave, had to go get another 6 pack mid week!)
Kona Koko Brown (also a fave, actually just drank it last night)
DFH Aprihop
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Green Flash IPA
Lost Coast Indiga IPA
Ranger IPA
Stone Oaked Arrogant Bastard
DFH 60 min IPA
On tap (and in California Adventure Park! You can't drink and walk around at Amusement parks in Canada! A treat for us!) Blue Moon, Sierra Nevada Pale and Torpedo, Carl Strauss Seasonal Pale
We also had dinner at Alcatraz Brewery one night...just 2 beers there, an Arrogant Jerk for Mr. Guitar and a Strawberry Wheat for me.

I look at the list and am amazed at what we managed to consume in a week (must have taken more down to the pool than I realized) ;)

I FINALLY got my hands on some Sierra Nevada Hoptimum. While pricey at $10 for 4, worth every penny! Yum

I finally tried DFH World Wide Stout and Hellhound. Wow, both good and strong.

I really hope WWS shows up in Texas... Haven't been getting much DFH down here lately... A couple of stores still have the last batch of Namaste and Red and White available (but that's probably because they're priced at $18/bottle)...

Saw the Black and Blue at a couple of places too, but that's not really my cup of tea... It's too bad that whenever an IPA makes it into the state is disappears immediately... it would seem a lot of the craft brew drinkers in H-town are hop heads... both my regulars spec's stores can't keep 90 minute on the shelf...
Texas... Believe it or not, there are fans here who'd love to see you play.

On the one hand, congrats on the score.

On the other hand, I really don't like you much right now.

I think you pretty much have to go to the brewery the day it's released and get your growler filled. Other than that, you're way out of luck. Color me sad to be on the east coast...

Sorry man. I actually kinda feel bad.
John (the local beer guy) owed me a favor because he couldn't get me any Faithfull Ale last year.
I saw him last week and he asked me if I wanted some KBS. I was like, "What's that?".
I'm a stout drinker, so when he told me what it was I was all about it.
Went home and looked it up.
Pretty stoked after I read some reviews. Haven't tried it yet though. ;)

It's really funny they put "Highly Acclaimed" right on the 4pack. Well, I guess it's only funny if it's meant tongue-in-cheek; otherwise it's just downright snooty!

I was paying a pretty premium to get my hands on Faithful Ale a while back, but it seems like I see it all over the place these days. I guess people realized it's an average at best belgian, but let's face it, that's not why we wanted it. :D

I guess I shouldn't beat you up too much about your KBS score -- Founders and Bells are probably all that get you Detriotians out of bed in the morning!! ;) I kid, I kid...
