Everyone here seems to be saying that the woman was afraid of being euthanized against her will and that it's Fox News' fault for reporting that. I pointed out the true context of the term "death panels" had nothing to do with euthanasia and that it was editorials from people on the left that made that connection and reported it as a fact that she had said it. So if you want to blame someone for planting that fear in tis woman's head, then you have to look at how the pundits on the left twisted her words and reported their false interpretation as factual information. Personally, I don't blame anyone but the stubborn old woman herself--and even then there's no guarantee that she would still be alive today if she'd gone to the hospital.

all you pointed out was that her words may have been taken out of context ... where you are mistaken is that you think the left ran with it ... when in fact it was the right and fox ...

as I've shown you earlier if you had bothered to read it ...

I actually did read it. I 'd just like to point out that I find it pretty ironic that wikipedia is being cited in a thread that claims Fox News isn't a valid news cource.

I never said the right didn't harp on the term "death panel." What I'm saying is that the people here who are saying that Fox News, Sarah Palin, etc. equated "death Panels" with euthanasia are wrong. It was the left who turned that quote into that and they ran with it for the purpose of making Palin look stupid (or stupider). All of the articles I found that linked Palin's use of "death panels" with euthanasia were written by people on the left. She never made that connection and I didn't find any articles in 5 pages of results that showed Fox News making that connection. Palin was talking about a denial of care or minimal care when she equated that section of the bill to a "death panel." So if this woman was afraid of what Palin called a "death panel" as it was used by Palin and Fox News, as far as I can tell she would have been afraid of being denied care at the hospital. If she was afraid of being euthanized, then she was afraid of what the pundits on the left reported as the meaning behind Palin's words. In either case, it was her choice to stay home and if any family members or friends were unable to convince her to get medical help then it's because she didn't want it and not because Fox News or editorials on the left misled her.

I would expect something a little more fact driven from you.

Godfather.

...
Actually... those are facts:
FOX News broadcast those stories along with tons of commentary on thos topics disguised as news.
She was stupid because she believed it to be news (journaliasm) because they present it as journalism, not as editorial.
She died based upon her idiotic assumptions that FOX News actually delivers 'news'.

I noticed that too.

How about this - should clear everything up. Anyone got a problem with factcheck.org?

dude ... why would the left need to run with death panels!?? ... sarah palin doesn't need help to make her look stupid ...

the reality is that right wing conservative pundits were the ones who ran with death panels because they were trying to undermine obamacare and obama in general ... they used it as a fear tactic which is what the right is good at ... that is why this lady refused to go see a doctor ... she ate the lies she was fed by fox ...

the left had nothing to do with death panels ... you're stretching here ... c'mon ...

Did you read the article I linked to earlier? They said Palin's quote referred to euthanasia. It didn't. I can post links to several other articles that make the same false accusations.

By the way, this thread is on page 7 of Google's results for "death panel euthanasia" and Page 4 if you search "palin death panel euthanasia." :)

Remember how Obama was going to take away everyone's guns... so crazy fucking people ran out and bought up guns and ammo after the election?
Remember how Obama was going to indoctrinate the little children with a televised message at the beginning of the school year.. and fucking nutcases freaked out and kept their kids home?
Remember how Obama 'Nationalized' all of the banks, General Motors and Chrysler?
Then, there were the 'Death Panels' and the vaccinations ahead of the flu season.
...
Remember how it used to be when the Conservatives were the ones who never bought into conspiracy theories, such as the 9-11 Inside Job... but, now are the loonies with the birth certificates and other unfounded crazy shit?
...
What the fuck happpened?
