really?

i hate to be the guy to burst anybody's bubble, but here is a fact for you.

ron paul will never ever be president of the united states.

i know it hurts, but it is the truth.

let's not delude ourselves here, ok?

that is solely because as much as everyone bitches about change...no one wants any...They all want to pretend it is only the other side that needs to change...
Paul could be President. Absolutely could...it is just a matter of delegates man. If no one has any majority going to the convention things will change quickly...hopefully I will be at the national convention, but I will go as far as a can to support Ron Paul in MN as a delegate (we actually have 4 meetings to do this) and the change he actually represents...
you aren't bursting my bubble, I feel good about supporting a candidate that I feel would benefit the country greatly, win or lose...stranger things have happened...I mean GW got a second term...if that can happen anything can.
as far as the Maine stuff

why don't we wait until the other 16% are counted. They will be counted whether it is official or not. My guess is he will end up with almost all the delegates from Maine no matter what

Was almost like it was a joke, but it's not.

After reading these, I think I officially confirmed who the biggest kool-aid drinker in the entire MT is. I can't say I'm really that surprised based on previous posts praising everything Democrats do. Anyways... congrats,.. that's quite an accomplishment.

I'd be careful using a kool-aid reference in a Ron Paul thread. If anyone's supporters could be accused of cult-like behavior, it would be his.

What I meant by kool-aid drinker is someone with an unquestioning belief in a political party's ideology.

So, difference is - Ron Paul supporters don't toe the party line whatsoever. Most of them are either former Republicans or former Democrats who are/were disenchanted with their former party. In that very sense, it runs completely counter to being a kool-aid drinker. These supporters are people who basically abandoned their former ideology (or party), in favor of a new one.

So tell me why isnt the man (Ron Paul) running as an Independent then? Or on another ticket not supported by either party?

Just sayin.

he is the only true republican left. the rest should leave and form their own party. They can call it the fiddling Nero's

Well, that is just one reason personal opinions leading me that he is a fraud.

Why not change? The party did? Why does he have to champion the party? Let it die. In actuality if he is what he claims to be why try to change the minds of the 99% in his party? Much easier and say my views represent this party now or Independent from these parties. Im sorry that is ridiculous and not a very good political move if you ask me. Parties change over time.

Democrats during the civil war were mostly confederate racists, lol, can you imagine if they knew that their party now supports President Obama?

^^^^^

pretty much....

i am just being honest about paul's chances to win....

you all should be honest about it too.

santorum surging in the polls tells me all i need to know about where the gop is heading. and that is not in the direction of ron paul...

paul should run as an independant, but he would need gop money from the national party to even run a serious campaign in the general election.

even if by some miracle paul gets the nomination, and by another miracle he wins the election his agenda will never get out of congress. he will be a lame duck on day one.

and yes he will cut medicare. not for those currently on it, but for people under a certain age, and that is not right. i would not want that safety net to be taken away from my kids or grandkids.

he has changed in the past, renounced the republican party in 1987 I believe...said they had lost their way. But instead of giving up and leaving the party to the mindless idiots with a shit load of influence, don't you think it is at all admirable to try to change the party platform from inside rather than give up and go against it. His point is that they talk about the things he talks about, but when they get in power they never DO the things they talk about...everyone of them talks about the constitution, but which one is willing to follow it strictly?

Coming from a supporter, I would rather him try to change the republican party platform from the inside than run as an independent. This doesn't make him a fraud.

Well he has a shit job to do to win over people with independent hearts. GOP has a bad reputation with people who fight for human progress.

My gut and things Ive seen makes still think he is a fraud.

Sorry.
